Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists
- The Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists (IABMS) was established in 1979, with its Head Office at the Dr. A.L.M. Postgraduate Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Madras, Taramani Campus, Chennai. The association’s founding leadership included the acclaimed neurosurgeon, Prof. Dr. B. - IABMS is a pan-Indian organization that has grown tremendously over the past four decades. Originally starting with a modest group of individuals in 1979, the association now boasts more than 1,500 life members. This growth is a testament to the association’s significant impact and its commitment to advancing biomedical science in India
- The association is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating outstanding contributions in the field of biomedical science. To this end, IABMS has established several prestigious awards which are presented during its annual conference. These awards highlight the exceptional work of individuals who have made significant advancements in biomedical research and practice
- IABMS also plays a crucial role in the dissemination of scientific knowledge. It publishes an official journal, ‘BIOMEDICINE,’ which serves as a platform for the publication of high-quality scientific papers related to biomedical research. This journal is instrumental in promoting the exchange of knowledge and fostering collaboration among researchers and practitioners in the field.
